MAT 123 Spring 2013
Course Description: This is a course in pre-calculus where you will learn about functions, trigonometry, and logarithms.

Syllabus: Your lecturer will determine what is covered in each lecture but here is a tentative schedule.
Required materials: Axler’s Precalculus textbook, WebAssign Code for Axler’s Precalculus, and any graphing calculator.
Grading: Exam #1 (20%) Tuesday, 3/5 at in Javits 100 covering 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5
Exam #2 (20%) Tuesday, 4/16 in JAVITS 100 at (NO CALCULATOR PERMITTED ON EXAM 2 ) covering 5.1,5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 6.5, 5.7, 5.8
Final Exam (40%) Monday, 5/20 at in JAVITS 100 covering 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.3, 4.5 and all sections covered on previous exams. Any calculator is permitted on the final exam, but one is not required.
Recitation Participation (10%) Attending recitation with your homework is considered mandatory! Here are the homework problems from our textbook for the course. Please consult your TA for his/her policy regarding this 10% of the course grade.
